For a long time, I believed that dreams belonged to childhood. Then I realised they are often the very first clues to who we truly are.
As a child, I spent hours listening to the radio. More than television, it was the radio that fed my imagination — voices, music, stories from faraway places. I listened to Henri Salvador, Gilbert Bécaud, Salvatore Adamo and so many others. I also heard the great reporters of the time describing the world. I still remember names like Luc Varenne, Luc Beyer or Jean‑Claude Mennessier. Through their stories, they made me travel far beyond my childhood bedroom.

That’s where my first dreams were born: music, radio, journalism, discovering the world. Life, however, took me elsewhere. I built a career in industry — with passion, responsibility and commitment. Like many people, I quietly stored some of my dreams away.
Then one day, I came across this sentence from JACQUES BREL:
“One must spend the rest of one’s life fulfilling one’s childhood dreams.”
It never left me.
Throughout my career — especially when I had the privilege of leading the transformation programme Simply Better Way at SmithKline Beecham in France — I learned something essential: a dream is not the opposite of reality. It is often the starting point of a method.
I learned how to turn a vision into a project, and a project into reality. I saw how a powerful, inspiring vision can transform an organisation. How ambition can reshape a company. How a dream, once pursued, can elevate a life.
Without knowing it, I was acquiring the tools that would one day allow me to realise my own dream.
In 2023, I began imagining a somewhat crazy idea: producing a tribute album to Henri Salvador, recorded in Brazil with some of the greatest contemporary Brazilian artists.
At the time, I had no idea how I would make it happen.
Three years later, that dream exists. It exists in music. It exists on CD. It exists on vinyl. And above all, it exists thanks to the extraordinary people who chose to believe in it with me.
Today, I am delighted to announce the opening of pre‑orders for the album Marcos Valle presents Henri Salvador do Brasil.
Perhaps the most beautiful lesson of this journey is this: Childhood dreams never truly disappear. They simply wait for experience, hard work and perseverance to give them a chance to become real.
