How I succeeded in bringing together Universal Music, Marcos Valle and Eddy Mitchell for a project nobody expected.

Over the years, I have learned one lesson from both business and politics:

Great leaders are not defined by their ideas alone. They are defined by their ability to surround themselves with the right people.

When I started Henri Salvador do Brasil, I was neither a musician nor a record producer. My first priority was therefore to build trust with the people whose support was essential.

It started with Catherine Salvador, the guardian of Henri Salvador’s legacy.

Then came Marcos Valle. Not through a contract or a pitch deck, but through patience, shared passion and a relationship built over time. One song became two. Two songs became an album.

Finally, I reconnected with a music industry executive I had met in Rio nearly 25 years earlier. That relationship ultimately opened the door to Universal Music.

This project reinforced a conviction I have always held:

Ambitious projects are rarely built alone. Success comes from vision, trust and the ability to bring exceptional people together around a common goal.
